Cake Ring Box

I was recently challenged to make a cake that resembled a specific ring box and matching wedding bands for a couples 2nd wedding anniversary.  I had a lot of fun designing it and putting it all together!
The cake was chocolate with chocolate icing.  The rings were done out of sugar paste and painted with edible shimmer dust and shimmer paints.  The clasps were done with sugar paste as well, using a chocolate mould and afterwards carved into a design that I thought would fit best with the overall design. After the moulds dried, they were  painted with a gold shimmer paint. After everything was put together, the fondant was glazed to resemble a glossy cherry wood finish.

Just Bee

I received my PME Professional Sugarpaste Diploma this weekend! Below was my final project; a 2 tier bee themed cake with a sugarpaste parrot tulip, petals, and 3-D bee topper.

Baby Shoe

This weekend I made a baby shoe out of sugarpaste for the first time and I loved it!! This would be great as a topper for a baby shower, baptism, or first birthday cake! On my to-do list is a baby bootie next :) too cute!

High Heeled Shoe

I just finished this high heeled shoe cake topper made out of sugarpaste. This is a must have for all those shoe lovers out there ;)

Old Tree Stump & Owl Cake

This is a 'Old Tree Stump & Owl Cake' that I made for a customer who just loves owls! It is a chocolate cake with chocolate icing:)

You're Invited to a Masquerade ...

This fondant Venetian inspired mask took a week to make and I had fun every minute of it.  It is molded out of sugar paste and left to dry before painted using edible paints, dusts, and different techniques to achieve a vintage look. It is currently on a decorated cake board until the masquerade themed cake is finished.

Quilling isn't just for paper anymore...

This cute little owl was made out of fondant using the quilling method.  It is currently resting on a decorated cake board that has more fondant work using the quilling technique while it dries, before it goes to a good home :)
